Oilers vs Ducks

NHL Free Pick:

Ducks – 127

After making short work of one Alberta representative, the Pacific Division champion Anaheim Ducks would love to take the first step in repeating the feat against the other on Wednesday as they begin their second-round series against the visiting Edmonton Oilers. Anaheim is riding an 18-game point streak (15-0-3) and collected a point in four of five encounters (2-1-2) with Edmonton.

Although Anaheim's defense received a jolt from the offensive contributions of rookie Shea Theodore (two goals, three assists) in the first round, the back line is expected to be strengthened all the more by the potential returns of All-Star Cam Fowler and top-four Sami Vatanen.

Oilers are 17-40 in their last 57 games playing on 3 or more days rest. Ducks are 15-2 in their last 17 vs. a team with a winning record.

Bulls vs Celtics

Bulls + 8

The Boston Celtics have turned the tables on the Chicago Bulls in their Eastern Conference first-round series and look to become the first home team to win a game when the teams return to TD Garden for Game 5 on Wednesday. All-Star guard Isaiah Thomas, whose playoff experience has been dominated by the grief of losing his sister in a car accident prior to the series, had his best game of the set with 33 points in Boston's 104-95 win in a Game 4 equalizer on Sunday.

While the Bulls wait on a possible Rondo return, Isaiah Canaan will be thrust into the starting lineup for Game 5 after emerging to score 13 points in 34 minutes of Sunday's loss.

Jimmy Butler scored a team-high 33 points with nine assists and one turnover in Game 4, attempting 23 free throws one game after failing to get to the line. Look for him to having another super night. Butler averaged 26 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.5 steals in the two wins at Boston.

The Celtics were 6-for-28 from long range and Thomas has made just 4-of-21 over his last three games.

Chicago is 72-for-85 at the foul line in the series. Boston is 48-for-67.

Bulls are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games playing on 2 days rest. Celtics are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 home games and are 6-18 ATS in their last 24 games playing on 2 days rest. Road team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings.

Astros vs Indians

Trevor Bauer is in an advantageous position to pull himself out of an early hole and even his record, if history is any indication. Bauer looks to emerge victorious for the sixth time in as many career starts versus the Houston Astros on Wednesday as the Cleveland Indians attempt to regain their footing after a tough beginning at Progressive Field. Bauer sports a 5-0 career mark with a 1.97 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 32 innings against the Astros, with two wins and nine punchouts coming last year.

While McCullers dominated his recent trip to the mound, his road performance continues to leave plenty to be desired as he owns a 3-8 mark with a 5.11 ERA away from Minute Maid Park. McCullers has limited experience against the Indians, although Edwin Encarnacion greeted him with a solo homer in his two at-bats versus the hurler.

Astros are 4-12 in McCullers Jr.s last 16 road starts. Indians are 7-3 in Bauers last 10 home starts and are 5-0 in Bauers last 5 starts vs. Astros. Astros are 5-11 in the last 16 meetings in Cleveland.

# 918

Dylan Bundy appears ready to live up to the enormous promise that led the Baltimore Orioles to draft him with the No. 4 overall pick in 2011. Bundy goes for his fourth victory and the Orioles look to rebound from their first shutout loss of the season in Wednesday's rubber match of a three-game set against the visiting Tampa Bay Rays.

Baltimore has not lost a series yet this year but was blanked on two hits by five Tampa Bay relievers after manager Kevin Cash elected to hold out scheduled starter Erasmo Ramírez due to the dreary weather conditions. Bundy carries a scoreless innings streak of 13 into his matchup against fellow right-hander Alex Cobb.

Cobb tied his season high with seven strikeouts against Houston last time out but permitted four runs for the third consecutive start and has been touched for 20 hits over his last two turns. The long ball also has been an issue for Cobb, who has coughed up five homers in his four starts in his first full season since undergoing Tommy John surgery.

Bundy matched his longest outing of the season last time out, limiting the Boston Red Sox to six hits over seven innings to followed up six scoreless innings of five-hit ball in his previous turn at Toronto. Bundy has allowed four runs in his four starts and has not surrendered a homer after yielding 18 in 109 2/3 innings last year.

Rays are 1-8 in Cobbs last 9 starts when their opponent scores 2 runs or less in their previous game. Orioles are 8-0 in their last 8 after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game. Home team is 10-1 in Littles last 11 games behind home plate vs. Baltimore.
